Can you cash a check from your insurance company for$10,000 w/out having a bank account open in your name?

I s there any where that will cash a check that high and if so is the interest and cost reasonable. Basically I havnt gotten an account so far b/c i dont trust that I'll always get it balanced right & now that i need i dont have a valid drivers lic, ss card or birth certificate do to my house burning down at...

Likely not. Shades of money laundering there . . .

And if you're here illegally, that's a whole 'nother story. You CAN get copies of your valid driver's license, social security card, and birth certificate.

And if the check is because your house burned down, don't worry, they're going to list the mortgagee on the check, so it's going to go against your loan, anyway, and not be cashable.

Without a license, social security card, or birth certificate, you wont be able to cash a check for $10, let alone $10,000!
If you cant get these things in order (which is ridiculous if you cant), you'll just have to sign the check over to someone you trust that has a bank account where they can deposit the check and then withdraw the cash once it has cleared.

You'll have a heck of a time cashing that check with no bank account or ID. Realistically, you'll need a bank account. Claiming inability to balance one is inane. What's preventing you from getting replacement copies of your license, SS card and birth certificate? This sounds fishy.
